Welcome parents and guardians! Thank you for visiting our classroom website. My name is Brittany Korstanje (formerly Miss Foley). Here is a little history on how I became a Full Day Kindergarten Teacher:
During high school and university, I loved volunteering in my mother's Kindergarten classrooms. After much observation and involvement with the Wyoming school community, I became inspired to teach. I was so excited when I was hired on in January of 2011 as the Grade One Teacher at South Plympton. I was thrilled to teach Kindergarten the following year and developed a passion for working with this age group. I was offered a Grade 7 contract position in September 2012 at Lambton Centennial and although I always look forward to a new challenge... I knew I would miss the little ones. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with leukemia in January 2013 and required some time off for my treatment. I felt so lucky to receive so much support from both LC and SP!!! I blogged with my wonderful students each week and missed each school community very much while I was in the hospital. I am happy to announce that I am now in complete remission and feel stronger than ever! I was back in action teaching Full day Kindergarten with Miss Courtney at South Plympton in September 2013. Many thought I was crazy for going back so soon but I knew I was where I needed to be... happy mind = happy body! For as long as I can remember, I have always noticed how Kindergarten students appreciate the little things in life... which I have now learned were not so little after all :) We really do learn from each other! Together we will approach different learning concepts in a fun and interactive way based on the interests of your child. I have fallen in love with the Kinnwood School Community and look forward to being a part of it for another year!

Hello! My name is Miss Courtney and I will be the Early Child Educator (E.C.E) in your child's class this year. My past experience includes two years working as a full time E.C.E. at Sunshine Corner Daycare in Corunna. I was also hired on the LKDSB last fall 2012-13 as a supply E.C.E. I am extremely excited and eager to be a part of the Full Day Kindergarten Program for a third year. I am a true believer that childrens' learning experiences have a significant effect on their development. As a professional advocator for early learning it is my goal to set these children up for success within school and beyond.
